Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my readers! I'm so happy that you all find my blog interesting and informative. I'm thankful for my friends, family and all of my blog readers. This past year sure was exciting with the Red Sox World Series Championship run!

There's a bunch of interesting stuff coming up in the next few weeks, so be sure to stay tuned for all that's coming up!

Toy Story 4 Teaser Trailer

I am so excited to share with you that Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in “Toy Story 4,” welcoming new friends to Bonnie’s room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. “Like most people, I assumed that ‘Toy Story 3’ was the end of the story,” said director Josh Cooley. “And it was the end of Woody’s story with Andy. But just like in life, every ending is a new beginning. Woody now being in a new room, with new toys, and a new kid, was something we have never seen before. The questions of what that would be like became the beginning of an entertaining story worth exploring.”

But Forky insists that he is NOT a toy! An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. Unfortunately, every time he tries to get away, someone yanks him back into an adventure he’d rather skip. “The world of Toy Story is built upon the idea that everything in the world has a purpose,” said Cooley. “A toy’s purpose is to be there for its child. But what about toys that are made out of other objects? Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of a disposable spork, so he’s facing a crisis. He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him.”

Filmmakers called on comedian Tony Hale to provide the voice of Forky. “It’s a huge thrill to be part of the Toy Story family,” he said. “But it’s going to take a while for it to really sink in.”

Said Cooley, “When we thought up this character, Tony was the first actor that came to mind and I’m thrilled he accepted. Tony’s performance as Forky is a comedy salad of confidence, confusion, and empathy... served by hilarious spork.”

How were filmmakers able to convince Hale to give voice to Forky? “A utensil’s existential crisis?” he asked. “I’m in!”

Join the National Park Service, USS Constitution Museum, and USS Constitution in celebrating three birthdays: the U.S. Navy (243rd), “Old Ironsides” (221st), and USS Cassin Young (75th) on Saturday, October 20 from 11:00 am-3:00 pm.

Participate in hands-on activities for all ages including a Watson Adventures scavenger hunt, watch USS Constitution‘s crewmembers perform boarding pike and gun drills, enjoy birthday cake, LEGO® building activities by LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston and more!

Red Sox incorporate baseball and math with Wally's Math Academy

As the Red Sox are continuing their franchise-record-setting run of 107 games won in a season, our friends at Fenway have created a way for kids to improve their math skills and educators to incorporate real-time statistics into the classroom with Wally's Math Academy.

The new program, “Wally’s Math Academy” replaces generic word problems with actual game data, incorporating video recaps of Red Sox games and photos of players. The program is free to educators and available by visiting redsox.com/wallysmathacademy.

With the goal of enriching and empowering young students with tools that keep them engaged, “Wally’s Math Academy” makes it easy for teachers and students to generate math exercises that use statistics from actual Red Sox games.

Currently serving students from 2nd to 4th grade, the program will soon expand to additional grades. Part of the team’s Calling All Kids initiative designed to enhance kids experiences at Fenway Park, “Wally’s Math Academy” is designed to reach elementary and middle school-aged audiences across the country.

Fenway Park will screen the original Jurassic Park in celebration of the movie's 25th anniversary on Tuesday, August 14. Movie Night attendees will be invited to walk the warning track from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., weather and field permitting. Concessions will be available.

The Fenway Rooftop Sessions, presented by vineyard vines is a new and unique way to enjoy the game.
