Withings Home Wi-Fi security camera

This blog post contains affiliate links.

The Withings Home Baby Bundle - Wireless Video Baby Monitor is a great Wi-Fi security camera with a lot of embedded perks: video streaming, air quality monitor, push notification alerts for motion activity and cloud storage of video footage. The Home packs a 5 megapixel HD camera with infrared night vision that has a field-of-view of 135 degrees which is pretty wide without looking like a wide angle camera. It has sensors for sound, motion and air-quality which will be able to alert you via the companion iOS app (iPhone, iPad, AppleTV or Apple Watch).

The product is great because it has two-way audio with “push-to-talk” option via the iOS app that let’s you speak to whoever is in the room. They also have a baby bundle package which pairs the camera with two covers: one blue and one pink which slip over the woodgrain finish.

We think this product is a great option for families who are looking for a baby monitor or just a plain security camera. The two-way audio is a great way to soothe your baby to sleep from anywhere by just using your iPhone and the camera. You also have the option to turn on a Lullaby mode which turns on an LED light and sound program to lull your child back to sleep.

Priced at $199, it offers quite a few bells and whistles to help ease parents’ anxiety. The air-quality monitor is really nice because it can warn you when carbon-based Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in parts-per-million go above a specified thresh-hold and also tracks the data so you can try and figure out if it’s a one-time occurrence or something that needs to be looked in to.

The Apple Watch integration is really nice because you can also be notified when there is motion and just glance at your watch to see an image of what’s going on.

I can’t believe it (and I know you won’t be able to as well) but the great folks at Withings have offered us a Home security camera to give away to one of our lucky readers… Enter through the Rafflecopter below!

Free Car Seat Check and Healthy Kids Day this weekend!

There is a great event happening this weekend at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. The Hockomock YMCA along with Patriot Place is hosting a Healthy Kids Day from 10 am - 2 pm on Saturday May 3. We went last year and there was lots to see and participate in. Everything from bouncy houses to fun activities and games were to be hand. One of the key things that we liked the most was a free Car Seat Check sponsored by Safety1st and Dorel Juvenile Group.

The great people at Dorel (also based in Foxborough) were on hand along with local police officers and firemen from surrounding towns who inspected any car seats to ensure they met proper installation standards as well as were properly secured. They made sure that we were well educated in how to install and remove a car seat as well as how to place our child in it properly and ensure that the restraint system was properly configured.

I cannot stress enough how much this part of the event helped me to feel better and calmer about how our child was riding in the car properly.

Baby Comfy Nose

If you've ever used a bulb or battery-type aspirator to clear the mucus out of your little one's nose, you've probably said to yourself: "There has to be a better way!" Well, we just found a better way and it's called the BabyComfyNose Nasal Aspirator. Here's the secret: It works so much better because it uses your own suction. Think about it: your own lungs are a strong, natural vacuum cleaner - much more powerful than a tiny bulb or battery-powered motor. And the result is just a more effective method of clearing your baby's sinuses.

But have no fear; you won't suck boogies into your mouth because of the design of the receptacle and the tissue filter that you insert into the body of the aspirator. This is why pediatricians are recommending BabyComfyNose to moms and dads. Recently, Dr. Sears of The Doctors TV Show recommended the BabyComfyNose as the best way to clear babies' noses. Take a look at the video 'How to Use the BabyComfyNose' here www.babycomfycare.com to see how well it works. Enter USFAMILY at checkout for a 20% discount. Or get the best retail pricing at Walgreens stores and save the shipping!

NOTE: This is a sponsored post. The only compensation we will receive is an aspirator that we will use to facilitate a review.

Snoozeshade for play yards

We had the opportunity to try the Snoozeshade and loved it, so we were really psyched when we found out we could try out the Snoozeshade for pack n plays and portable cribs.  We were finding it hard to be in one room away from our baby because we wanted the lights on but wanted her to be in the dark. The snoozeshade for pack n play gave us just the option we needed. We tried it in a few different settings: our bedroom, den and outside. We found in all of the situations it was great, breathable and even helped to keep the bugs out which is a huge plus for us since we live in a wooded area.

It seemed to help encourage our little one to sleep longer, we would assume because of the darkness it provided. It also proved to be a visual stop sign for lots of people. Literally, people would stop, realize a baby was sleeping and quiet down immediately. That didn't always happen if we had our baby in a Pack n play, people would just whisper.

It's light, easy to use, and has breathable, washable fabric.

We think this product would be a great thing to have around for any family, especially for those on the go or that travel a lot.

Drool Baby Expo Recap

Last night, Emily and I attended the Drool Baby Expo! We arrived at 5:30 and the place was buzzing with excitement. We went to all of the tables and learned about the latest in baby gear and garb. We sampled Pinkberry yogurt, snacked on HappyBaby food, popchips and pretzel crisps while playing with some toys and checking out the strollers, car seats and endless amounts of toys!

We were excited by a few different items from Wean Green glass containers, Oxo Tot products, Haba toys and Sage Spoonfuls blender/processor product.  We talked with some great people and learned about so many things.

Stay tuned!
