Fun Globetrotters Basketball and Disney on Ice performances and another Disney on Ice giveaway!

During the winter break, we checked out the Globetrotters at the TD Garden and Disney on Ice at Boston University's Agganis Arena. The shows were fantastic and the kids had a great time.

The Globetrotters show was exciting and hilarious as usual with the Globies putting on their usual performance of fun times combined with some great basketball. As could be predicted, the Washington Generals tried to keep up with the Trotters in scoring but couldn't catch their lead.

The Trotters had some fun moments like their Lion King reenactment where they pick a young kid from the audience and raise them up - it was hilarious! They also had some acrobatic moves flipping up on top of the hoop to block a shot. We thoroughly enjoyed staying for their fifth quarter, the autograph session where fans young and old could go down courtside to meet the players and take photos with them and get their autographs. Certainly some fun memories made, for sure!

Agganis Arena was a great location to see Disney on Ice: Find your Hero! We arrived a little before the show and were able to find street parking just off Commonwealth Avenue. We went into the venue and the kids enjoyed the show. We enjoyed performances from Moana, Tangled, the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and others!

We are excited to offer a family four-pack of tickets to the next Disney On Ice performance at the TD Garden, Frozen and Encanto, February 22 at 7pm. You can enter to win here:

The Globetrotters are coming to New England in February and March

We absolutely love going to see the Harlem Globetrotters. I remember going to see them as a kid and loved their zany antics, fun show and amazing basketball skills. It is fun to be able to take my kids to see the show that brings together families, friends and basketball fans. They are coming to New England and you have chances to see them in three cities in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island this winter.

The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will bring their new “Pushing the Limits” World Tour to over 200 North American markets and 30 countries in 2020 including New England stops at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA on Feb. 19th at 7:00 pm, Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI on March 20th at 7:00 pm, SNHU Arena in Manchester, NH on March 21st for two games at 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm and DCU Center in Worcester, MA on March 22nd 2:00 pm.

New to this year’s tour, and never been done before, include:
  • Holders of 21 current world records, the Globetrotters will attempt a new world record live at each game on tour this year, hoping to add to their list of impressive accolades and innovations.
  • In many markets, the Globetrotters will also perform their legendary pre-game “Magic Circle” ball handling warmups in the dark, using a glow in the dark Baden basketball to provide the illumination.
  • The Globetrotters will celebrate their fans by introducing “The Fifth Quarter,” a free interactive post-game autograph session where fans will have the opportunity to meet the Globetrotters stars up close and personal.
As part of the tour, the Globetrotters will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the four-point shot, a shot 30-feet from the basket which they introduced to the sport in 2010. The team will also bring back its popular “Magic Pass” pre-game event, which enables fans to come onto the court, meet their favorite Globetrotters for pictures and autographs, and even learn how to spin a ball on their finger just like the stars.

Watching the Harlem Globetrotters in Worcester

I recently had the opportunity to bring my daughter and her friend to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the DCU Center in Worcester. This year the Globies are on their Fan Powered tour taking their fun times and hilarious antics to the next generation.

I was my first time going to the DCU Center and we parked in a nearby garage. We walked to the door and found a line had formed outside as you have your ticket scanned immediately on walking through the doors.

We found our seats just before the teams were announced and then the fun antics began with team introductions and Globie, the mascot entertaining the crowd.

Be sure to plan on staying after the game - you can go down to the court level and go around and meet the players, get their autograph and take photos with them. Such a cool experience. If you go to meet the team, just be aware that the players generally don't move, you need to walk around to meet them and get their autograph.

The next game in our area will be this weekend in Providence, RI on April 6 with two shows, one at 2 pm and one at 7 pm.

Here's some photos from our game:

The line outside of the DCU center went somewhat quickly, but be prepared to wait outside.

The view from our seats was great.

There were so many hilarious antics during the game, like this one - one of the players hopped up on the top of the hoop during the game. So fun!

At the end of the game, you can go down to the court. to meet the players, get autographs and take pictures. Just be aware that you need to move around to meet each player - they don't come to you.

NOTE: We were provided with tickets to the game to facilitate this review. No other compensation was provided. As always, all opinions are our own.
